Wildlights

Terms

The terms, while this is a beta.

Plain versions of the usual things: it is free, it is young, your music is yours, and there are events you should not run on it.

Last updated 2026. Using Wildlights means accepting what is on this page.

What you are getting

Wildlights is offered free of charge while it is in beta. There is no contract for a level of service, no guaranteed uptime, and no promise that a feature you used last month still works the same way this month. Changes will be made, occasionally with little notice.

If Wildlights is a load-bearing part of an event you cannot afford to have go wrong, plan what happens if it does not work. Rehearse it, and have the night work without it.

Your music is your responsibility

You supply the songs. Wildlights analyses them in your browser and never receives the audio. Whether you are entitled to play a piece of music at your event — licensing, venue agreements, performance rights — is the same question it has always been, and it is yours to answer. Do not use Wildlights with material you do not have the right to play.

Events you should not run

Do not use Wildlights to:

  • deliberately trigger or endanger people who are sensitive to flashing light;
  • display content designed to harass, threaten or deceive people in the room;
  • interfere with the operation of a venue, a broadcast, or emergency access and signage;
  • break the law where your event is, or the venue's own rules.

The flashing limits exist to make the first of these hard by default. Deliberately working around them is a misuse of the product.

Running an event safely is on you

You know your room and your crowd; we do not. Choose the flashing setting deliberately, tell people what to expect, and make sure nobody feels obliged to take part. Someone with their phone in their pocket is simply not in the show, and that has to stay an easy choice for them.

Nothing on this site is medical, legal or safety advice, and Wildlights is not certified by any body.

Your account and your content

Keep your operator links to yourself: anyone holding the control link for an event can run its show. Your shows, colours and event details remain yours. We store them to run the service, and you can ask for them to be deleted at any time.

We may suspend an account that is being used for anything in the list above.

Liability, plainly

Wildlights is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of it — including an event that does not go the way you hoped. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid for Wildlights, which while it is in beta is nothing.

When this changes

Beta terms change as the product does. Material changes will be described on this page with the date above updated. Continuing to use Wildlights after that means the new terms apply.

Questions

Anything here that is unclear, or a situation this does not cover — ask, and the answer will probably improve the page.
